I love these challenges b/c of something I once heard on a podcast somewhere: I’d rather be a code janitor than a code ninja or code rockstar. A janitor comes in, and cleans everything, making the next day better. Rockstars trash hotel rooms and ninjas leave a lot of blood

Mom named me Paul but I’m slothbear most everywhere online.

My first computer was the CDC 6600, the world’s fastest computer from 1964 to 1969. 6 million dollars, 128K memory, designed by Seymour Cray
These days I write software in Ruby and Swift, plus I’m learning Kotlin.
I’m semi-retired, mostly helping users of iOS and MacOS plus some web site stuff. I’m thinking full time work would be fun again. Know anyone who needs a humble flexible Toolsmith?
I’m Ken, a Silicon Valley refugee now in the San Diego area. I mostly work in C on embedded systems, including Linux kernel hackery & device drivers for custom boards for spacecraft. In former lives I did video games, digital TV, compilers, debuggers, etc.

Co-founder of Retail Zipline, an Enterprise SaaS product that retailers like Old Navy, LEGO, and Lululemon use to coordinate their store teams.
I live in Kansas City, MO right now.
I’m originally from Vancouver, Canada and have spent many years in San Francisco.
I mainly write Ruby and JavaScript. I started with Ruby in 2005 and JavaScript in 1999.
I’ve founded multiple successful software companies, the best of which do hundreds of millions in revenue / year… but I still spend time on the bin/setup scripts because they matter.
I’ve been enjoying the challenges so far. Thanks Ben!
